Mixed-mode design at its very best

Analog-to-digital (A/D) converters are crucial building blocks in radio receivers. A novel A/D converter based on so-called ∆∑-modulation technique has designed, fabricated and tested, as well as thoroughly investigated on a theoretical level.

The application of this A/D converter is in the data conversion section of state-of-the-art radio receivers, i.e. receivers for EDGE/WCDMA multi-standard radios. And a version of the proposed A/D converter is currently used by SoS industrial partners. The work was performed by Martin Anderson as a CCCD/SoS PhD student. Martin is now employed at Ericsson Research in Lund.
